Once the engine starts. move the throttle into a fast idle position (1000 - 1200 rpm). Check your instrumen-
tation for proper engine operation. Make sure that sea water discharges
along with the exhaust discharge.
NOTE:
Some unstable running may
occur
in
a cold engine. but this condition should smooth
out
as the operating temperature
of
170 -
190'
F (77 -
88'
C)
is reached.
Transmission
Shifting
To shift the transmission, use the remote control shifting lever located in the cockptt. This remote control
shifting lever rotates the shifting lever on the side
of
the standard transmission. Rotating the shifting lever
in
a counterclockwise direction places the transmission
In
FORWARD gear.
To
shift the transmission in
REVERSE gear, rotate the shifting lever in a clockwise direction through NEUTRAL into
REVERSE.
Remember:
FORWARD GEAR: Rotate the lever COUNTERCLOCKWISE.
REVERSE
GEAR: Rotate the lever CLOCKWISE through NEUTRAL into
REVERSE.
