DESCRIPTION

The

generator

a brushless, self-excited generator which

requires only

the

driving force of

the

engine

produce

output.

The

stator houses

two

sets

windings;

the

main

stator windings and

the

exciter windings. When

the

generator

started, residual magnetism

four rotating

poles

induces a current in

the

stator which then generates

even

larger current

the exciter windings. This mutual build

four rotating poles

and

the

exciter windings

quickly reaches

the

saturation point of

the

capacitor(s)

and

regulated energy

then maintained in the

stator.

Circuit

Breaker

A circuit breaker

installed

all

single phase

WESTERBEKE generators. This circuit breaker

will

automatically disconnect generator power in case of

electrical overload. The circuit breaker can be manually shut

off when servicing

the

generator

ensure that

power

coming into

the

boat.
