INSPECTION

Before starting your engine for the first time

after a

prolonged layoff - check the following items.

o Check the engine oil level; add oil to maintain the

level at the high mark on the dipstick.

o Check the fuel supply and examine the fuel

filter/separator bowls for contaminants.

o Check the transmission fluid level.

NOTE:

Refer to the specifications pages in this manual

for

fuel, oil, and transmission types and quantities.

o Check the DC electrical system. Inspect wire

connections and battery cable connections.

o Visually examine the unit. Look for loose or missing

parts, disconnected wires, unattached hoses, and

check threaded connections.

o Check the coolant level in the plastic recovery tank

and at the manifold.

NOTE:

the engine has not yet been filled with coolant,

refer to the

"Engine Coolant" section

this manual.
